Well afraid I need to talk to someone today, as it is mum's funeral and service ETC, and I feel a bit lost on my own, and wish I could have driven like before my virus in the bloody brain.
Guess some things are meant to be eh?

Your mum's funeral service must feel like the loneliest day of your life - I do hope you have some friends around you - they cannot replace that unique relationship, but you do need someone to talk to.

My mum was taken ill just after Christmas (she's nearly 90) and we had to take her to hospital. For a while it wasn't clear whether she'd ever come out, and the feeling was as if I had no clue what to do. I'm usually a bossy type with an answer for every situation but I had trouble even deciding which clean nightie to take in for her and I was pathetic dealing with the hospital - eventually they discharged her without anything being arranged for her, just because I couldn't explain what help she was going to need.

She's settled back at home now, and doing OK - but I can certainly feel for you today. Do take care of yourself.

Hi Stu,
I was wondering where you had gone to and am motified to learn the reason for your lack of posts.

I only ever use the religeous site as politics etc; do not hold any interest for me but I noticed your post on this site.

It goes without saying that to lose ones mother is one of lifes most upsetting and disturbing events, one can never ever replace the affection between a mother and child in the vast majority of cases, the best way I found under the circumstances was to dwell on all the good times shared and thank the Lord for having had the chance to do so.

Kind regards.

It's good to see you bouncing back, Stu. Losing your Mum is never easy, but loved ones are immortal for so long as they remain in our living memories.

QUOTE: "....apologise in advance if I go overboard with my posting and take over all the threads." Nice try, Stu - no limits to some people's ambition. Shocked Cutting Edge provides 89 topics under the heading of UK Politics; 68 more under the banner of Religion and 48 treating with UK Economics, so it's probably lucky there's no crossword, otherwise you'd never get any sleep.

Hi Stu.

We've spoken privately, but i've just come across this thread.

My Mum died from heart disease in Spain five years ago, just past. It was all of a sudden at the time and my two brothers and i were shell shocked to put it mildly.

You just have to carry on and it gets better to deal with over time. It's only now that i've started to put her legacy to what it was intended to do, which was to provide an income, a home and a legacy for her children and her grandchildren that sadly she never got to meet.

Once you get over the grief, the love will still surround you!

Smile
