September 2008 saw the most spectacular financial crash since the Great Depression of the 1930s. The crisis prompted record-breaking financial bail-outs in America and Britain. The legacy is record government debt and low growth on both sides of the Atlantic, which is profoundly reshaping society on both sides of the Atlantic. The Legacy of the Crash brings together a stellar cast of contributors including Tim Bale, Wyn Grant and Graham Wilson to provide a sophisticated account of how the administrations are faring. They explore the impact of the crisis and assess how political leaders in both countries have responded, whilst also looking at the challenges of governing in the new 'age of austerity'.

The legacy of the crash is that even the least curious have been forced to the realisation that Bankers can be crooks.

.... as well as Politicians.

.... likewise the Police;

.... and the Press.

2008 changed more than just Economic perceptions.

yes i believe this is quite true Oftenwrong. but economic perceptions changed a great deal after this. i think it helped in a funny way to show people that economics effects everyone and you better start to understand it the best you can.

The problem remaining being that if you ask ten economists for their solution to a given problem, you're likely to receive ten quite different answers.
