Wouldn't it be nice if there was a small tax added onto the pensions of old people? We could call it 'for the grandchildren tax', and use it exclusively for the green revolution, or, better yet, we could use it to start small businesses from the state for the kids to supply them with jobs. This will likely set up a few small businesses each month.

Okay then, onto this global warming thing. All this smog is just gaseous coal and oil. If we were to take a plane through it, we could harvest it again and decrease global warming, but what will the plane do?

If the plane could cool it, say to freezing point, it will fall to the earth or into the ocean. Maybe we could burn something with the petrol and coal that would see it fall to earth naturally? How about... combining a furnace or whatever with a nitrogen cell to make it cooler again? Then we can sift it through a water combine or whatever and make the water oil again - one of my old ideas...

But if we were to burn it with something that will see it cool quickly, we could avoid further green house gas cumilation.

Of course another of my ideas a long time ago was to burn all the green house gasses. I know that ozone is flamable too, but the green house gasses reside much closer to earth than the ozone layer, and that is why we can burn it! It is gas based coal and oil, so not only can we stop it, we can stop it forever if we find the right way to burn it.

The best way to burn it would be to use plasma, or, a laser that travels through the gasses and burns them. This will take no time if we were to put the laser through a diamond and then emit rays in every direction into the air. This will turn it from a gas into another non green house gas, maybe even seperating the coal from the air around it.

Maybe we could rig the laser so that it emits radiation? This nuclear type fire would envelope the whole mess and then temperatures will go down? To clean up the radiation, we spew forth whatever they use for radiation poisoning on people...

Back in the mists of time in the UK, (1998 actually) a nice Mr Blair said he was going to pay Grandparents to look after thr Grandkids when mummy and daddy are at work. It is well known this is a task undertaken by battalions of pensioners without complaint.

What do you think happened to this nice man's pledge??

I have never asked my mother to watch my son for me for any reason, and I never would. She's done her time, so to speak, and she deserves to be able to enjoy her retirement now.

Beyond that, not every grandparent is able to watch children, due to health reasons. If they are, great. But, I really think the parents should pay the grandparent, rather than the government.

A "blow the roof off the sucker" professor of Sub Saharan African history one told a bunch of knuckleheads, me included, that "grand" means "great" or "greater", so grandparents are greater parents.

I was raised like that, and I raised mine like that. One time, when I was nine, I walked into a room in which my mother was standing with a sour look on my face. She asked what was wrong, and I told her that my grandmother had just told me to do something that didn't make sense.

Mom stopped, turned and looked directly at my face, put her hand on her hip, and said, "That's my mother!"

I may be crazy, but I ain't no fool! I marched my round head right back to my grandmother, got the particulars on just where, when, and how she wanted me to do what she had told me to do, and did it just like she wanted.

That's the way it should have been. After all, she was my greater mother.

We probably have something to learn from the Mediterranean style of family, which works rather like a small firm, and often IS a small firm - where three generations work together for their common good in a restaurant or shop. At its simplest, Granny looks after the infants whilst Mummy and Daddy work for a living, instead of Gran being lodged (expensively) in a Care Home.

And when Grandmother corrrects the children, the children learn to obey Grandmother, their "Greater Mother", rather than running and telling momma that Grandmother is "picking on me."
