So we should all now start to feel sorry for our poor MP's, they are having a very hard time at the moment.....
I think this bit really swings it for me......
Now we all know how often Liam was away from home over seas, I can not think of another group of workers who are having to suffer the same conditions.....NOT......
There has been an increase in the number of MPs suffering from irritable bowel syndrome due to the stress of their jobs, a doctor who works in parliament has warned.
Dr Fiona Alexander said the number of MPs who were suffering from affliction had "rocketed" since the general election from three to 18.
She said the illness was related to "stress and exhaustion".
"There has been a change in my perception about the physiological and physical state of the people that I see," she said. "They are less well."
Dr Alexander was giving evidence to the Members' Expenses Committee, which is examining the operation of the expenses regime run by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa).

"No matter what all the other stresses are … If someone doesn’t have a stable place to live, doesn't eat regularly, doesn’t have access to their family … they're not going to be healthy."

Clearly the answer may be for them to spend more time with their families.

My heart Bleeds for them!!
Being an MP is work, what is so hard about that.
We employ THEM, and we should apply the same paramaters to them as they apply to us -
If it is too much for you just go, there are plenty of your immigrants out there who will do your job for less than £5,00 an hour, and probably be happy with a caravan or tent in Regent's Park!
It is merely because they are wakening up to the fact that they are supposed to be responsible and have responsibilities that they have to live up to like never before that they are starting to whimper about their SELF INFLICTED pressure

I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of MPs who need cause the faintest flicker of concern in us if they decided to pack up the job...

Technically, the People could decide not to elect any MPs.
That would be interesting.

Re: Stressed MPs 'suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome'
After many years of doctors not being able to diagnose my wifes relentess chronic pain, finally, finally, they found out it was "irritable bowel syndrome". I had never heard of this disease, if it is indeed a disease. Still, there is not much they can do for it since it is a psychological- physical disorder.

Re: Stressed MPs 'suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome'
Irritable Bowel Syndrome seems to be an illness of people living with a high degree of tension between what they do and what they believe to be right - sometimes, people whose circumstances make it impossible for them to live the life that is right for them (Kenneth Williams was I believe one such), sometimes people compelled by their role to act in ways that do violence to their internal moral compass.
Maybe the rise in IBS among our MP's signifies that some have consciences that they are finding it more and more impossible to reconcile with some of the wicked measures being brought in by this government

Traditionally, an MP unhappy with his Party's whip, will "cross the floor of the house". It will be interesting to see whether there will be that kind of fallout surrounding the 2015 Election. If so, it could be game-changing.

It would make no difference OW, they're all part of the same gang irrespective of who they pretend to represent.

So why do we keep playing the Election Game on what is patently a crooked wheel?
Is it because it's The only Game in Town?

Re: Stressed MPs 'suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome'
There you have it. Let's all listen to tlttf - "they're all as bad as each other" - and his implication is that it isn't worth voting for anybody. So we should all stay at home on election day, just like he won't. The man giving us this pearl of wisdom went out and voted for the liar, looter and adulterer Boris Johnson; strange world, innit? It would make no difference OW, they're all part of the same gang irrespective of who they pretend to represent.

Yeah, but Boris makes people laugh.
People like to laugh.
That's why they like Boris.
Boris likes that.

I read one of those once, but I couldn't work out 'who'd dunnit'.
However, if there were any Tories involved, it certainly wouldn't have been them, I feel sure...
