So the drop in Labour's lead to single-digits in a different poll earlier this week was a 'blip', seemingly - the change was within the margin of error and not significant.

IVAN about time that the people of the UK woke up to how the Tories get there funding, and realise it is the normal tax payer that is paying the price for Tory donors. I hope the polls goes up as the penny drops to the people of the UK about what the Tories really are all about.

Latest polls:-

YouGov/Sun: LAB 34%, CON 32%, UKIP 14%, LIB DEMS 8%, GREENS 6%.

TNS: LAB 35%, CON 28%, UKIP 18%, GREENS 7%, LIB DEMS 6%.

I suspect (sadly) that the TNS poll is what psephologists call "an outlier", since it differs substantially from the overall trend of a very small Labour lead.

I suppose any Labour lead is a good thing, but the larger one is definitely preferable (one example of where size does matter, I guess)

Polls presumably seek to reflect the general view, but in British politics a simple majority opinion does not accurately indicate the number of seats in Parliament which will be allocated. This is due to the number of "safe seats" which do not normally change hands from one General Election to the next.

Proportional representation is long overdue. Apart from the wartime government of national unity, there have been only either Conservative- or Labour- dominated administrations since 1939.

The proportion of seats piled up extra by Labour by no means compensates for the number of mugs' votes bought by the tories or convinced by the terrified BBC.

The reason for the BBC being terified is the threat from the Tories Penderyn that they will cut there money even further if they do not do what the Tories tell them to do like help the Tories to smear the Labour party to put the people of the UK from voting Labour in May.

I see the Tories have gained points on Labour in new poll.

Not surprising in view of they much published false claims on
less unemployment, half the deficit, creation of higher wages, low inflation, growth in the economy and worst of all the false claim on now having an achieved surplus.

Public swallowed it all hook line and sinker. I's about time Labour started to contest this on a daily basis. It's different and fair policies we want to hear, but more importantly Labour must put a stop to these Tory manufactured false runaway claims.

Where is the voice that exposes these claims I ask?

Boatlady the Tories cannot help LYING through there back teeth about the economy its in there DNA, plus they knoe if they told the truth to the people of the UK they would be lucky to get 20 seats in the HOC.

But I do agree that Labour need to come out and tell the people of the UK the truth about unemployment & employment like 1.4 million of those jobs they brag about are Zero Hour Contracts, & about the same numbers is Workfare and we all know DWP sanctions which we all know that is the EXACT reason for the sanctions so the Tories can shout about about the VERBAL DIARROHEA they keep repeating since May 2010.

I am going down to Hallam Sheffield for one week & I will be telling the people of Sheffield the entire truth about the Tory LIES if I can I will shout it from the rooftops.

Lets hope that the entering back into the front line of John Prescott, will add more to the arguments needed to be at the for-front of Labours electioneering. He is the best street fighter (literally) the Labour party has.

But the diference is John Prescott will give as much as he gets something Ed and the Labour party should have done from the beginning, when the Tories & Lib-Dems came out with the VERBAL DIARROHEA that it was Labour fault that the Financial crash 2007/08 happened they have just came out and said it was a LIE.

I did e-mail the Labour party and tell them to stop this drip drip effect because people would believe it which they did.

Interestingly, the Polls now are very little different from similar ones taken in October.

Perhaps voters have made their minds up not to make their minds up just yet.

I think your spot on bobby JP will not be silent with the Tories he will give more that he will get in the verbal stakes, and the Tories will not like that one little bit.

Ashcroft puts Miliband ahead in current Poll. Peter Kellner of YouGov says, “Labour’s challenge is different. If everyone who believed in the party’s good intentions backed it, victory would be assured. Its task is to persuade more voters that its head is as impressive as its heart: that it actually knows how to achieve its social objectives while helping businesses and families to prosper.”

I wish people would wake up and see that Ed Miliband is no Tony Blair OW, I am going to do what I can to make sure we get a Labour party win on May 7th.

A number of moaning-minnies are destined to emerge after the election with quantities of egg on their faces.  

After what the Tories have made the people of the UK suffer & all the LIES they have spouted about the Labour party, it is understandable that the majority of people will not be voting Tory in May OW. Maybe this is mean spirited of me but I will laugh at the moaning minnies when we have Ed Miliband in No 10.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't win. My problem is to know how far this Labour Party will do something different when they get there.  The precedents are not hugely encouraging.

I think you will find Ed Miliband "Open Honest" and will keep his promises to the people of the UK unlike Davy boy who has broken every promise he made to the people of the UK Penderyn.

I am just worried that too many of those people will believe Davy boys Blatant Lies, if they do they will pay a heavy price because once he is in the nasty Backstud will come out.

I was impressed by Ed Miliband - my personal feeling is he can be trusted to do his best to lead a truly representative government

My hopes & wishes is that I meet my two favourite Labour MPs Ed Miliband & Dennis Skinner then I will be a happy then to finish that off a landslide win for Ed & the Labour party.

The problem is that Parliament does not consist of fuhrers but of six-hundred-plus MPs. A high proportion of the Labour ones are unreconstructed Blairites, surely?

Apparently everyone is expecting the Scottish Labour Party to be decimated in the General Election, so obliging Miliband to wed Sturgeon in order to form a government.

Although I can remember polls last September that sent Westminster leaders into a tizzy when it was thought that Scotland was going to vote for Independence.

But the result was just short of a draw. Why should a general- election in Scotland produce a different result to the referendum?

I would watch what you hope for Penderyn, Alec Salmond has been whispering in the Plaid Cymru leaders ear now she is hoping for Independence for Wales I have heard her say so and with you living in Wales could Wales manage if they where Independant ?? But the problem is Salmond is using PC and the Greens to get what he wants not what the Scots want and what is good for Scotland, if you take a look at what Salmond was asking for on the run-up to the 18th September 2014 you will see see he wanted from the UK his cake and to eat it too.
