Insomnia and British posters
Blah. That's all I have to say. Blah.
It's ... *looks at clock* ... 4:04am. I've been up since 2am. Insomnia is a killer. What's more, all the British posters should be up and about. Isn't it 9:04am there? Rise and shine, folks! Post something because I'm bored. Give me some reading material! LOL!

Re: Insomnia and British posters
The boredom aspect apart, insomnia is not necessarily debilitating. If you really can't get back to sleep, get up and do something you perhaps ought to have done a week ago. Aside from that make sure you are not merely dreaming that you are awake! A visible clock may suddenly have jumped forward an hour or more while you were worrying about "not sleeping".
Remember that the body has its own circadian rhythms, and many people can train themselves to wake up at a given time, say 7 o'clock. Just don't keep waking at Four a.m.

Shirina. We put our clocks back an hour for the winter at the weekend, so it was 8.04am here when you posted. At that time of day, some of us are having a shower, eating breakfast, feeding the cats or taking the dog for a walk. And despite there being more than 2.5 million (and rising) unemployed under our rotten Tory-led government, some of our members are getting ready to go to work at that hour!

Plus the fact people have a life apart from the World Wide Web, me, at that time in a morning, i have all on trying to get my limbs to function, the brain packed in a few years ago. Tea and toast, and a mornings read of the newspaper, gets me set to do complicated things like starting up my computer and remembering passwords.

Re: Insomnia and British posters
Having risen at 06:00 and showered and 'pottered' about, at 08:04 each morning I am about 3 miles into my morning run in the local gym with another 1-3 miles to go depending on the state of my somewhat ageing legs, knees etc. By 09:00 I am showered (again!)back in the house with toast and coffee the priority as I turn on the laptop to see if anyone wants me or my business partner to undertake any work for them at ridiculous charges- and, thankfully, such an event is occasional rather then regular , although I respond whenever I possibly can, while preferring to have loads of free time to enjoy what I flogged myself for over a number of very hard years.
After that I attend to correspondence, shopping and other domestic issues , before turning my thoughts inevitably to what might be occurring at Pease Pottage Conservative Club. From time to time I feel compelled to share such Club news with my chums on here. Walking and lunch are the focal points of much of the rest of the day. What a life! How lucky am I ?!

We had a family friend who lived in Madrid and was alone at home for five working days every week due to the nature of her husband's business. She apparently did housework at 4 a.m. because it was the coolest time of day.

Well, I certainly hope no one took my "demands" for posting content seriously! I perfectly understand that even 9am is probably too early to start with the internet, much less 8am (we set our clocks back next weekend, I believe, so we'll catch up to you). I can't really "do" much at that hour as I live with two other friends, at least one of which keeps normal hours. Noise of any kind is out of the question. I even bought myself a very expensive set of Bose headphones for TV/music/computer gaming should I decide to do any of those during the wee hours. Sometimes my neuropathy will wake me at odd hours, and at that point I'm doomed since there is no sleeping through it no matter how tired I am but I can't do anything, either. Although that hasn't happened in awhile (knocks on wood). My other roommate keeps odd hours since she works at a nightclub, but she was piddling around on Facebook - which is even more boring than doing nothing.

Nope i don't think so, we tend to ignore demands, especially if they are demands for payment. We call piddling, urinating, so why would your roommate be taking a pee on Facebook, it could blow up the computer.

LOL!
Yeah, "piddling" can mean both "taking a pee" and "random tinkering" here. Fortunately it was the latter definition in this case or the rug would need some serious cleaning. Nasty!

QUESTION - Did Johann Stauss 11 write the words for this opera? There seems to be some disagreement!

Re: Insomnia and British posters
Well unfortunately/fortunately not much insomnia in my small flat Shirina, because of the medications that I have to take for my illnesses.
My night ones knock me out just about straight away, my head hits the pillow and I'm asleep.
