Should Suarez receive a further ban? Was Evra's behaviour at the end of the match acceptable? Should Rio Ferdinand have involved himself?

All parties were probably at fault today, but the prevailing atmosphere has been made worse by the apparent tolerance ( some may say encouragement) of Liverpool FC towards racism. A disgusting one-eyed bunch, but what did we really expect...?

We shall be treated in the next few days to further bleating from many Scousers telling us how Suarez should never have been banned in the first place, and how they intend to hero-worship him further by the wearing of named T-shirts and masks depicting his smiling face as he presumably makes another crude insult to a fellow-player.

If he had any sense Evra would have ignored a predictable snub and let the result do the talking at the conclusion of the match...

At the very least it should sell a lot of newspapers.

Stop the handshakes at the start of the game. It never used to happen. It is meaningless in the context of the following match.
Once the match starts it's every man for himself and his team. Tripping, fouling, shirt pulling, professional fouls and hand waving to try to persuade the ref. to give a red card.

(Oftenwrong quote) - Oftenwrong is often right

You're absolutely right. It all boils down to money. And the spectators are mugs enough to pay all that money - either in entrance fees or purchase of over-inflated prices of Club goods.

It costs me £6 to get into a match and watch my local team in the Evo-stik league (that's concessionary price) + 80p for a dubious cup of 'coffee' at half time. Often the football is more entertaining than the professionals offer. Whilst I enjoy watching football on TV I get enjoyment out of the involvement locally - cheering and swearing at the useless ref. oops sorry ref.

I agree totaly with Sir Alex Ferguson, he hinted at something which I have strongly believed for a long time, and that is that the gentlemen have long gone from gentlemens sport.

Today football is all about me..me..me, celebrity status and most of all - MONEY

I detest football at this level, there is nothing remotely sporting about it, infact whenever England play an international match, I always support the other team.

As long as this contretemps remains within the confines of the Sports pages it's not likely to bring down the government of Football, but by Golly something should!

Apologies. Trying to get used to using 'quote' instead of 'copy' as I did on the old MSN, and working out how to find my way round cuttingedge. I'm a bit slow. Comes with age. Sad

After all the apologies and acceptances let's hope the subject is in the past.

Let's concentrate on the continuation of the Tevez saga. On second thoughts - perhaps not. With Rangers going into admin. along with Portsmouth again. McCarthy gone from Wolves. Other managers gone, or in danger of going. Chelsea in the doldrums. Many of OUR teams owned by foreigners.
I'm beginning to feel like watching cricket - oh. We just lost the last Test series in Dubai.
Ah well - Ballroom dancing - here we come. Do they allow Zimmers on the dance floor?

Absolutely.

Keen cricketer wanted to know if they played cricket in heaven. He prayed about it and one night an angel appeared. I've got good and bad news for you' the angel said.

'The good news is - we do play cricket in heaven'.
'The bad news - you're opening our innings on Wednesday'.

A legendary footballer dreamed he's died and gone to Heaven. Obviously dreaming during the dream because he would be destined for the other place.

On arrival he saw the perfect green pitch being mowed in diagonal stripes, an expectant crowd of 50,000 and two teams lined up with a space for him in the centre of one of them. Turning to the referee, the famous footballer asked, "Where's the ball?" To which the answer came, "Aye lad, tha's the Hell of it down here! No balls at all."
