It's certainly traditional to cock a snook at tradition - or to speculate that some -even at its very centre - might have tired of it....

Re: Is David Cameron a moron from the outer reaches of the universe? (Part 2)
When new to coalition government in 2010, one of the things demanded by Cameron was that Charities should shoulder more of the burden of welfare hitherto undertaken by the State.
This month, several media publications have been ventilating the problem of donors being harassed by charities to increase their level of giving.
As ye sow, then shall ye reap.
The argument about who is responsible for welfare has been amply argued in an American article:

Arise Sir Eric Pickles, knighted for failing to build the homes we need
From an article by Hannah Fearn:-
Former communities secretary Eric Pickles is to be knighted for his service as an MP. In a letter informing him of the honour, Cameron said he would be rewarded for his efforts in tackling the housing crisis: “I really do believe our housing policies, including right-to-buy were landmark achievements from our first term. You have helped lay the ground for us to continue with these reforms in the years to come, helping more people onto the housing ladder with the security that home ownership brings.”
It’s easy to be disheartened by this letter because, on the contrary, Pickles has actually done more than most in the Conservative Party to undermine the PM's ambition to get new homes built. In the last five years alone, he has been involved in the rewriting of planning policy, the guidelines of which are so scant that housebuilders can sidestep their responsibilities to build social housing or contribute from their profits to help councils or housing associations do so in their place.
Pickles has stepped in to block controversial housing developments, using neighbourhood planning and the wishes of local communities as a foil. Almost 10,000 new homes went unbuilt in the run up to the general election thanks to this one man alone. And during his tenure, Pickles ignored the advice of planners, councillors and housing professionals in supporting the extension of the right-to-buy scheme (though this final transgression is, of course, much less remarkable).

After the FIFA scandal, Cameron says that he wants to see "a global corruption purge". Perhaps he should start by putting his own house (or rather, the House of Lords) in order.......

Sky News Tonight @SkyNewsTonight 25.06.2015
David Cameron says he's unlikely to secure changes to EU treaties before UK in/out referendum.
23.01.2013 The prime minister: "The next Conservative manifesto in 2015 will ask for a mandate from the British people for a Conservative government to negotiate a new settlement with our European partners in the next parliament. And when we have negotiated that new settlement, we will give the British people a referendum with a very simple in or out choice to stay in the EU on these new terms; or come out altogether. It will be an in-out referendum
11.05.2014 David Cameron: in-out referendum on EU by 2017 is cast-iron pledge.
Watch this space for ever-increasing wriggle-room ....

QUOTE: ".... do you think he will spit his dummy out ...."
It's clear that Cameron the individual is pro-Europe, but many of the "bastards" as John Major described them, are still in the Tory government, and still opposed to any kind of external interference with Britain's affairs. UKIP was simply the extension of that view to the general public, but was neutralised by the promise of an "in or out?" referendum.
28 other members of the EU all have to agree to everything which might satisfy Tory Europhobes so whilst they may accept a light trim around the edges of their lawn, substantial concessions to Little Englanders are unlikely.
Thus Cameron is eventually going to announce a date for the public to choose whether to stay in the EU or not - but the overall terms will probably only have been changed cosmetically.
As we learned in May, the fickle British electors are likely to produce any kind of result. We live in interesting times, Redflag.

Re: Is David Cameron a moron from the outer reaches of the universe? (Part 2)
Can any of us imagine, for one minute, the shifty toad, Cameron, telling us ' I didn't gain the concessions I sought'.
Nothing less than a presentation of a glorious victory over those pesky Europeans will satisfy the not inconsiderable vanity of the duplicitous one.
Does anyone else detect - as I do - a different - more haughty - tone in Cameron since the Election? Either it is a show he puts on to attempt to look tough and authoritative, or he is just a little too full of himself. Either way, I do wonder if he isn't heading for a fall at some point in the not-too-distant...and maybe not just over that referendum issue...

I'd guess that's after five years of having to check, before he sat down, that the Cleggites hadn't taken his chair away he now feels able to relax a little. But it won't be for very long, with such a small majority.

You have a good point there PH, but Davy boy will not fool his MPs that want out of the EU no matter what consessions he gets from the EU but from what I have heard on the TV news he will not get what he wants.
Davy boy has always been a arrogant patronizing condescending SEWER RAT He will have a a severe fall so I hope he has plenty of padding on his deire aire because he will fall from a high height.

Totally agree. That part of his anatomy to him is most important as he talks out of it all the time.
Note all the pre-election lies about the so-called 'northern powerhouse'. Six weeks after getting re-elected on a platform based on total untruths and lies. The notion is rapidly being dropped, by way of the £38 billion rail upgrades being axed.

Nevertheless, it's likely that David Cameron will jump ship as soon as he can find a credible reason for "passing the baton". Not long after the referendum result (whatever is the result) would be my guess. He doesn't seem to have many friends. Anywhere.
