First topic message reminder :
With the election campaign set to start in earnest this weekend we are likely inundated with picture and videos of candidates in all sorts of embarrassing poses etc......
I would like to kick off with today's look from Bercow to the Tory front bench

Makes you wonder - or maybe he's just noticed he may lose his job if he doesn't get involved in the fight

“Number 13 on this list doesn’t actually own a single share in the company that you have associated, number 23 on the list who is an associate of this company but isn’t a director and doesn’t own any shares, number 39 names somebody not a director or a shareholder, number 40 isn’t a director, doesn’t own any shares. One of the signatories is down as Stanley Ward Conservative Club. It’s a shambles!”

Good heavens! You surely can't be suggesting that the Tory Party might seek to mislead the voting public.

Post deleted - makes no sense, unless to have a go at a member of the moderating team - and you can use a personal message for this - thank you

Re: Election 2015: best political pictures and videos
It's Neville Chamberlain after a meeting with Hitler in Munich in 1938.
Last night, Cameron was waving around another 'scrap of paper', still trying to milk Liam Byrne's ill-advised "there's no money left" joke five years after it was written. Fortunately, when outgoing Tory chancellor Reginald Maudling said "sorry about the books, old chap" to James Callaghan in 1964, Labour was neither pathetic nor desperate enough to keep repeating it for years to come.
Now we've clarified that, perhaps we can stick to videos, pictures and posters for the current election, please.

Re: Election 2015: best political pictures and videos
Phillip J H. From the emoticon you used, can we take it that you approve of vandalism? As happens so often, you slap down a picture (or one of your endless and tiresome stream of out-of-date videos) without any explanation of who or what is involved.
The woman in the picture is Charlotte Leslie, who is seeking re-election as the Tory MP for Bristol North West. Two vehicles belonging to her and her family, and one campaign car, had “Tory scum” painted on them. Maybe someone who watched screeching rants of maniacs repeating those words over and over again felt inspired to do this, who knows? And what good did it do? Will it help disabled people pay their bedroom tax? Will it help the poor to feed their families and not have to rely on foodbanks? No. The only people it helps are the Tories. It gives them an excuse to label all left-wingers as vandals and thugs.
The Labour Party is a democratic party. It aims to persuade people by rational and reasoned argument to vote for it. Anyone who perpetrates or supports vandalism does the cause more harm than good, and the party would be better off without them.
The other items you posted on this thread were made long before this election campaign and have therefore been deleted.

Re: Election 2015: best political pictures and videos
Sorry Ivan I agree with Phillip in fact she is lucky it was not worse, if it was left to me I would be asking Mr Hollande for a loan of a working Guillotine another Bastille day would be my preferred punishment for all the Tories.
After what they have done to the people of the UK all the bloody Blatant lies they told before they got into power in 2010, plus they have stooped so low in the dirty tricks during this run up to the general election, like telling the people of the rest of the UK that it would not be Labour running the gov't but the SNP MPs in particular Alec Salmond. While I was in Wirral West they had big billboards with a photo of Salmond with Ed Miliband in his top pocket. I know this does not say much for my character as a human being in my defence I would just say the Tories infuriate me to lenghts I did not know about myself.
The SNP do not get the nick name Tartan Tories for nothing, just take a look at how they have blackened the name of the Labour party here in Scotland, they are desperate & determined to get Independence by any means whether we want it or not.
PS I have just recieved my HELL YES Tee-Shirt YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I would like it to be the one with the lever in my hand, I would not worry about blood because what runs through the Tory veins is "ICE COLD WATER"

They use to get rid of them quick too, by doing 4 or 6 at a time in some parts, all be done in less than 2 hours,

Once civilised expression of disagreement descends into vandalism,
the debate favours "might is right"!

Re: Election 2015: best political pictures and videos
As Ivan has indicated, there is nothing heroic in vandalising anyone's property ( Bullingdon Club Members take note! ) and it does allow the Tories to seek the 'sympathy vote' when they are seen as the 'victims'.
They will have loved that convenient attention and the 'martyrdom' and , while I would not put it past them to have done it themselves for that very purpose, or however much they deserve the label of 'scum' ( which they do in abundance) to adopt the tactics of the thug does no credit to supporters of what is a decent party ( unlike the Tories) ...

Exactly the sort of message which gets anyone left of centre a bad name.
Surely what is needed is to get the wealthy to act responsibly and willingly in support of those who are not so fortunate...

Are Class War fielding any candidates in the election?.....
If they are not then they are of no relevance.........Other than to provide ammunition for the right wing of British politics.....

Re: Election 2015: best political pictures and videos
astradt1. Agreed. Not for the first time, I get the impression that one of our members is determined either to (a), discredit the democratic left in British politics or (b), to drag this site into disrepute with foul language and support for mindless ranting and vandalism, and/or (c), simply to spoil the forum by posting irrelevant material all over it because he doesn't like our rules.
I suggest that in future you and the rest of the staff delete on sight any further such manifestations. We can then discuss in the staff room if further action is required to eradicate this unacceptable behaviour once and for all. Thanks.
