Someone...anyone...please try to explain the rationale behind giving tax dollars to illegal immigrants so they can attend American universities for free?

Yeah, isn't that wonderful, Oz? I mean, I wait 6 years to become a legal citizen of the United States by doing it the right way ... and because of that I have to pay $60k for my education out of my own pocket, aside from a few grants. If only I had sneaked across the border eh? Then maybe I wouldn't have a student loan to pay off. Who ever said crime doesn't pay?

The California Dream Act, is for children that have graduated from high school here. They have requirements to meet in order to qualify, you don't just get it because you are illegal. Most if not all of they were brought here when they were very young by their parents and had no choice in the matter. I have seen more than one in the news that didn't even know they were illegal.

Blame the parents, not the kids or our Dream Act

I think the Central European's are more of a problem than the Mexican illegal's. They can and do illegal things and get away with doing them. They came here to flee religious persecution, they refuse to obey our laws and have no interest in our culture. This of course does not apply to all, just a lot.
They demand that we follow their religious beliefs and change our law accordingly. It's a mess.
Even the ones that came from the same country many yrs ago have a problem with how they act.

Give me Rosa and Ricardo anyday.

I think the Central European's are more of a problem than the Mexican illegal's.

There are far too many Latino illegals who have no interest in America or being an American. They refuse to learn English, have no desire to assimilate, and still think of themselves as Mexican/Nicaraguan/Salvadoran/Dominican/etc. etc. America to them is nothing more than a host for the parasite. And then there is that group who want to take back America's southern states and create the nation of Aztlan for themselves. They want to fill these areas with Latino politicians and use democracy against the US by voting to secede from the US.

The irony here is that, should this crazy plan ever succeed, they'll probably make a mess of Aztlan just as they made a mess of Mexico, so half of them will yet again cross the northern border into the USA.

Note: This video is not some right-wing propaganda piece trying to get Americans to fear and hate the illegals. This video comes directly from the Aztlan groups themselves.

Additionally, Texas is a part of the United States of America because Texans chose to boot Santa Anna's sorry behind back across the Rio Grande in 1836 and join the Union in 1845. Also, that forty-thousand years male bovine solid waste ignores the fact that the first humans didn't reach North America until far later.

I like my Muslim friends also. Our friends are all different and we like it that way. Variety is the spice of life. When we were in college we met people from all over the world, they have enriched our lives.
Of course the rest of our right wing family doesn't have any use for them, but we consider that their problem not ours.

I agree jst. I think having friends of many different backgrounds is a great thing. Makes the world go round.

This seems a strange argument. Because older people never had a similar opportunity in their day, it should be denied to newcomers.
