First topic message reminder :

Ok posters, if like myself you get fed up with religion but just want to discuss this and that what is going on in Britain or the world, or just want to tell a joke to get us all smiling  Laughing instead of being serious all the time on your threads.
But when you do our uncle Ivan or one other moderator will tell you to stick to the thread, then this is the place to come.
No offence uncle Ivan cos you are doing your job, but sometimes we slip do we not?
C'MON GET DISCUSSING ABOUT ANYTHING, MAKE EACH OTHER SMILE/LAUGH.

boatlady my newsagent let me half read them while I was there and to tell you the truth yes for the expense the guardian seemed almost Tory to me, the Independent was far too expensive for what it was, I bought the daily mirror home to read, and it took me 30 minutes at the most, waste of time IMHO.
I'm having it delivered for a week to try it, if I feel the same still I need to pick one?

Tried a more thorough read and it made no difference i'm afraid boatlady, even the mirror is mostly Tory IMHO, ARE THE NEWSPAPERS ALL THE DAMNED SAME?

Well my neighbours are giving me their newspapers to read as they know i'm going to start buying again, oh my what rubbish some people read.
I would not even spend my money on them, the sun 5mins to read, the star even less. So much crap printed for people with no brains.

Ivan IMHO I think all the newspapers are just a larger or lesser form of Tory read than the other, in the end I may just get one for the sports etc and get the news I want from the internet as I have been doing.

Publishing a newspaper is an occupation for the wealthy, as you'll know already, Stu. There is money to be made from the poor (e.g. the betting industry and the Brewerage) but they themselves are unlikely to print a socialist newspaper.

You can read The Independent online: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

So far they are not charging for that.

I sometimes get the shorter version of the Independent (called i) Costs about 20p and gives a rundown of the main stories being carried that day - I find it handy on a journey, or if I'm meeting someone in a public place and need a short read - it's a shorter version, but not dumbed down
