The Tea Party takes the floor
With all the grumbling going on from the GOP over the past 7 years about President Obama's status in regard to his having (possibly) been born outside the U.S., how is it Ted Cruz can avoid that same kind of criticism with the wave of his hand?
With other Tea Party hopefuls soon to be nipping at his heels (Paul and Walker, most obviously) I don't see how he expects to avoid criticism from the same people who have harassed Obama.

US Politics are an endless fascination for we Brits, Beth, if for no better reason than that they sometimes provide early warning of changing trends in our own form of Government. (We have just had five years of Reagonomics Revived, with a General Election just a few weeks away).
From three thousand miles away it seems to us that many Republicans just wish to resume the contest mistakenly interrupted on April 9th, 1865.

Re: The Tea Party takes the floor
From what I've seen ... and I do have the opportunity for some little bit of taking notice .. you have nothing even close to the Tea Party. They are terribly self-righteous about following the Constitution to the letter but have no real concern for the welfare of the people ... and are very very socially conservative.
It only takes a little observation - open eyes and ears - to spot the difference between them and the old guard GOP.
Still, we have a year and a half to sort it all out in the 2016 election.. Good luck with your own, coming up very soon.

Re: The Tea Party takes the floor
There are some thoughts on this thread about whether we could be heading for a UK Tea Party:-

Sorry about the misplaced apostrophe - I didn’t make this poster - but I'm sure the plan is to erode the rights of more than just one worker:-
