Geography word game
First topic message reminder :
Name a geographical landmark that starts with the last letter of the place listed before it. (Can be anywhere in the world.)
So - Whitby Abbey could be followed by York Minster.
'R' landmark anyone?

Fortunately the volcano appears to be extinct. If not, that's going to be quite an Insurance claim.

The folk down below also probably panic a little every time the residents up above have a bonfire...

Killiecrankie (and Loch Faskally)
http://www.perthshire.co.uk/index.asp?pg=419
one place to visit Ivan if you ever go north of Berwick upon Tweed (which itself, is 64 miles north of Hadrian's Wall)
The history of the Battle of Killiecrankie and the Soldiers Leap - which could itself be an Olympic Event is intresting in many ways
Mr Phil has an excellent Hotel to reccomend - never having visited this particular one - so many in the area.

Is Mr Salmond planning to stage the next Olympics, then?
Presumably to be concurrent with the Braemar Gathering.

Re: Geography word game
not being pedantic, but nearer to Blair Castle an aged yet pretty place, still habited by the Dukes of Atholl (a favourite haunt of a certain M.T.(Mrs)!!!!!!!!
The Blair games are renowned I have a photo of Geoff Capes going to throw a youngster in the Toss the Hammer competition!! Nah!! he backed out!! kid's mummy was a firebrand. I spent the next 5 minutes looking for Mr Beadle - it WAS in the 80s!! many distilleries around.
The leap was, from memory some 30 feet, no one has tried it.
The Commonwealth Games did nothing for Jockland a few years ago now.

In nearby Pitlochry there is the Victorian splendour of The Wellwood - actually an excellent B&B but like small hotel. At Killiecrankie itself there is the Killiecrankie Hotel. The Queen's View is a healthy longish walk from each.
( Many other hotels etc are available in and around).
Happy to meet up at the Atholl Arms ( adjacent to Blair Castle ) for a pint and some hearty nosh....
