Six things you've never done
First topic message reminder :
Marcus Brigstocke currently has a programme on BBC Radio 4 where he invites guests to try things they've never done.
Share your list with us of six of the things you've never experienced. I'll start the ball rolling:-
- I've never eaten an oyster
- I've never bought a copy of 'The Sun'
- I've never been to Scotland (like the Romans, I stopped at Hadrian's Wall)
- I've never smoked a cigarette
- I've never watched an episode of 'Coronation Street'
- I've never voted Tory

Re: Six things you've never done
Make it your 2014 project to have haggis - in honour of Scottish independence - it's a much less scary foodstuff than you might think - rich and tasty, served with tatties and neeps (turnips to those of us south of the border)

Re: Six things you've never done
I have never fallen off a ladder (though I have cleaned church windows from the top of one)
I have never towed a caravan (with or without a car)
I have never ridden an elephant (though I have about 1000+ of them in the room next door)
I have never learnt to play a piano (or any other musical instrument for that matter)
I have never been scuba diving (though I have been flounder fishing with a spear)
I have never run a marathon (though I have done the same distance on a sponsored walk)

6 things you've never done
Sensible choices of omission, Foxcliffe.
There is nothing difficult about towing a caravan, so long as you remember the additional weight and width. The fun starts when you try to reverse, and the two components go their separate ways!

'There is nothing difficult about towing a caravan,....'
I have enough trouble getting me down the road, let alone a mobile residence!!
It isn't the additional weight, maybe not even the width (though there might be a few close calls), it is the extra length. I leave plenty of room behind me when I pull out - just so long as I leave the caravan behind too
