Trayvon Martin: Public 'outrage' grows after teen death
The US Department of Justice has announced an investigation into the shooting of an unarmed black teenager in Florida.
Trayvon Martin, 17, was shot dead by George Zimmerman, 28, while Martin was walking through a gated community in a suburb of Orlando last month.

Trayvon Martin: Lawyer calls for shooter's arrest
The lawyer for the family of [a] US black teenager killed by a neighbourhood watch volunteer has called for the man's arrest.
Trayvon Martin, 17, was killed by George Zimmerman, 28, while walking through a gated community in a suburb of Orlando, Florida.
Mr Zimmerman says he was acting in self-defence.
The US Department of Justice has announced an investigation into the police handling of the case.
A Florida grand jury will also hear evidence in the case on 10 April, a state prosecutor has said.
Florida Governor Rick Scott has asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to assist in the investigation.

Amendment 14 of the United States Constitution requires state governments to provide equal protection under the law to all. It seems that, in Florida, “all” does not apply to seventeen year old Black males who choose to leave their places of abode (permanent or temporary), purchase snacks, and return to their permanent or temporary abode. I guess that certain government entities in Florida believe that their exclusionary “interpretation” OF Amendment 14 supersedes the express will of We the people of the United States of America.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic lawmakers on Tuesday blasted police handling of a racially charged case in which a neighborhood watch volunteer shot dead an unarmed black teenager in Florida, accusing local law enforcement officials of botching the investigation.
The lawmakers, speaking at a congressional forum attended by the parents of the slain teenager, called for the immediate arrest of 28-year-old George Zimmerman, the white Hispanic who shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on February 26 in what Zimmerman said was self-defense.
Florida law enforcement officials have faced intense criticism in recent weeks from civil rights activists and others for not arresting Zimmerman, who remains at large and in seclusion.
Congresswoman Corrine Brown, who represents a district that includes Sanford, the town where the shooting took place, decried the police inaction, saying she did not know if it was due to incompetence, a cover-up or "all of the above."

Geraldo Rivera: Hoodie responsible for Trayvon Martin's death

Geraldo Rivera has entered the public discussion about Trayvon Martin’s death by blaming the Florida teenager's choice of dress.
“I am urging the parents of black and Latino youngsters particularly not to let their children go out wearing hoodies. I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin‘s death as much as George Zimmerman was,” the Fox News host said Friday on “Fox and Friends.”
Martin, 17, was shot and killed Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla., by Zimmerman, a 28-year-old neighborhood watch volunteer. Zimmerman was not arrested because police said there was no evidence to contradict his claim that he fired in self-defense.
,,, Rivera chose to focus on another aspect of Martin’s death that he believes could have changed the outcome.
“Trayvon Martin, God bless him, an innocent kid, a wonderful kid, a box of Skittles in his hands. He didn’t deserve to die. But I bet you money, if he didn’t have that hoodie on, that nutty neighborhood watch guy wouldn’t have responded in that violent and aggressive way," Rivera said.

George Zimmerman killed an innocent human being with premeditation and with malice aforethought. George Zimmerman is a murderer. Also, George Zimmerman has proven that, if not incarcerated he is a danger to innocent members of society.
George Zimmerman should be arrested and held without bail right now, and he should be charged with murder in the first degree and tried as quickly as possible.

What about a slow and thorough investigation, a slow and thorough trial...where a bright light is shone on every piece of evidence.

A (far too) slow and thorough investigation has revealed that George Zimmerman put nine millimeter rounds into an unarmed seventeen year old man (unless tea and skittles are “arms”) in a premeditated manner with malice aforethought.
A quick and thorough investigation of the current state of affairs reveals that George Zimmerman roams free.
Allegations have been made that Zimmerman shot Martin in self defence, Martin attacking him and banging his head on concrete, or such.

An Enquiry was begun less than two weeks ago, and it seems likely that the only eye-witness to the incident would have been the alleged killer. To gain a conviction, the Police would require some kind of independent evidence, which presumably they are seeking diligently. Until then, there may be little prospect of a Trial.

OH well, looks like Big BUBBA or some of the dead fellow's relatives and friends may have soma entertainment.
Similar thing happened in Scotland years ago, and bloke cleverly got away with murder in the court. He Forgot about the relatives!

Lawyers for the US neighbourhood watch volunteer who shot dead an unarmed black teenager in a case that sparked widespread protests have withdrawn from the case, saying they have lost contact with George Zimmerman and fear for his emotional state.
Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig said Zimmerman, 28, contacted the prosecutor who will decide whether he should face charges and even talked to a TV host after they told him not to speak to anyone.
