That was an exciting Autumn Statement from Gideon. Slight tax saving if you are buying a house now, but for everyone else it's "Jam tomorrow". Well, not precisely tomorrow - more like four years later.

How is it our ar5elicking, pro-government media would manage to turn con artist David Cameron with his lies and fake promises into Mr wonderful?
I truly despair at the continued efforts of the fickle British public to give their votes to the Conservative Party. Surely now I may begin to have a very faint hope that they have finally seen through all this Tory Fraud.

Cameron on the one hand pretends to be hostile to the EU while actually favouring it. False immigration policies they  know they can’t implement, unfunded tax cuts, highlighting terrorism when they know that boots on the ground is the only way to rid us of The Islamic State, with all other countries joining in on the ground, OF COURSE THERE IS AN ELECTION AROUND THE CORNER, and so leave the public at risk.

Claims that they have rescued the economy when they have in fact loaded it down with even heavier chains of debt, personal smears of Labour leaders.

Of course the Tories can rely upon the media/press to castigate and ridcule Ed Milliband to the nth degree, whilst showing Cameron at every opportunity on TV and in the press, doing his propaganda stuff.

Less unemployment? pha!!!! contract employment, part time work for many who have to take three or 4 jobs to make ends meet. No wonder the little git Gideon has limited tax receipts. Does he think we are all stupid ? yes he does and the fickle Joe public fail to see it.

UKIP and Russell Brand are kicking Tory ar5e, but that's all the help that Ed Milliband is getting IMO.

Good luck Ed and Labour, by god you will surely need it.

Well you should know by now Mel that apart from the odd three newspapers, the rest are tory owned and supporters and arse lickers. So much so it makes you want to puke, does it not?
Surely you really do not think that UKIP are kicking tory arses do you? they have been licking each others arse because come may they will need each other for a possible coalition Mel?
My neighbour has to do three jobs per week to survive Mel, because the jobseekers were on his back so much, I hardly see him these days, and keep my eye on his place cos he's never in hardly.

No matter how hard it is to swallow, this could be a good election for Labour to lose - given the on-going savage cuts which will need to be made. The pain - which will be felt on an even wider front than in the past 5 years - may cause civil unrest and consign the Tories to a long time in opposition.

Yes of course there are three rags that are supposed to be left wing. The trouble is that they try to be impartial unlike the Tory propaganda press.

UKIP are kicking Tory arse and Labour as well unfortunately although I do not think they will be strong enough to do as you say in a possible coalition.

The bloody Tories are and have always been con artists. For example Macmillan said all those years ago to the public "you have never had it so good" A complete con because women were going out to work and two incomes were coming into the households. Now one needs three wives going out to work just to keep pace.

IMO the British public will put up with anything, unlike for example the French and the Tories know it. God help us all except the wealthy if they get another 5yrs in office.

Myself having looked at what has got to be done to put this lot right and undo what the bloody Tories have done? well for a start Labour will have to borrow or tax? and just the mansion tax will not raise them enough cash to put the rest right will it? so what can they tax of the rich bastards so it will not affect the normal folk?

Err, yeah, Stu. Osborne's proud boast of stopping the Global firms (Amazon, Google, e-bay etc.) from paying derisory rates of UK tax, is itself derisory. His plan will produce about 1% extra on top of the current Treasury income from Business taxation.

Mel, please accept my apologies for mistaking your gender in an earlier post and calling you love, and also that is a phrase that is used in my part of the country it will not happen again I assure you.

Osborne will not do it in his next budget prior to the election, but he certainly needs to tax more than he did in his last mini budget so watch out if they get back into power.

So that's where you've been.

This is an interesting article that argues for an alternative approach to that taken by the confidence trickster George Osborne - a man whose policies/experiments will, in time, prove to be economic folly and have possible dire consequences.

The article points out we aren't collecting enough revenue.....however this will surely get worse.

The present 'encouragement' to people to go 'self-employed' - and the fact that people are being pushed down that road, indicates that the government is actively encouraging a quasi legitimate black market economy whereby in coming years there will be ever less revenue collected.

Disaster looms.

Well sickchip, i'm afraid there already is an illegitimate black market or two going on around where I live at the moment, but you need to know certain people to get the right things cheap? alas I do not know those.

In an interview with BBC Political Editor Nick Robinson Mr Osborne said voters faced "a real choice between competence and chaos" at the election next May. He said his Liberal Democrat coalition partners were in "the same mix" as Labour and UKIP.

George Osborne: "There is a real choice for people between the competence offered by the Conservatives and the chaos of the other parties. What they are offering is a chaotic alternative of higher taxes, higher borrowing and a return to economic chaos. Britain doesn't want to come back to square one."

I suppose that saying could be applied to Peter Hitchens, but he attacks the Tories from the right. I have to be careful what I say about him; he came after me once before when someone (possibly an ex-member of this forum) told him that I had posted some unfavourable comments here. However, I understand that Hitchens thinks people should vote for UKIP to teach the Tories a lesson, although he doesn’t intend to do so himself.
 

That sounds rather hypocritical to me Ivan IMHO.
