Geography word game
First topic message reminder :
Name a geographical landmark that starts with the last letter of the place listed before it. (Can be anywhere in the world.)
So - Whitby Abbey could be followed by York Minster.
'R' landmark anyone?

There's a hole in the stone on one of the graves, where is is estimated the deceased heart would be under. And the vampire story goes round
I rather liken it to the story of Bedgellert in North Wales. Captures the attention of the kids (just like wot I iz!)

Re: Geography word game
Mr Astra - As with a number of stations on the 'Settle & Carlisle' line as it headed towards the Border, the builders were as interested in establishing a name for themselves, comparable to the West and East Coast lines to Scotland, as they were in creating a public service which was of benefit to the communities associated with its stations' names. Accordingly, they principally focused on just ' getting the line built' . But it was still a fantastic achievement by those 19th century navvies - too many of whom died in the process- and still a wonderful line on which to travel...

The Ribblehead Viaduct is a site to ponder, not least that there was not a JCB or bulldozer in sight when it was built.
