I think this is a very beautiful version of Carol of the Bells . . .
Such a beautiful season, I just wish we had snow, the old fashioned fluffy stuff that stays around for a while making the world quiet and bright.

An especially warm Christmas greeting to all of those kind people who read my stream-of-consciousness burbling without feeling any corresponding urge to post a commentary.

Re: Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Yes, Happy Christmas everyone, and a peaceful 2105.
I think my time on these threads is about up, as I sense I have become something of a merchant of doom and an unwelcome pessimist for those believers in a Labour victory. Been a lot of fun and I wish you all the very best.

Don't ever think that please Phil, as I would miss your other version of thinking, as a lot of posters are very optimistic at the moment you always have to wait until the march polls for a proper view on the outlook ok merry xmas and happy new year, and stay around.

Merry Christmas - or Winterval - or just a happy holiday (please delete according to your preference!) to all Cutting Edge members and their loved ones.
Maybe this church has captured the true spirit of Christmas?

Re: Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
A warm Thank you to all my friends here on Cutting Edge for your seasonal messages. Sincerely appreciated, as was also our decision this year to stop making excuses to explain hiding at home every Christmas. Patronising as Original Begetter over the unified celebrations of four generations of OWs proved rather satisfying. Two children and three grandchildren each have their own established business, apparently maintaining a lifestyle to which I have always aspired myself. Perhaps they did listen to a little of my advice after all! The several great-grandchildren were never still for long enough to be counted accurately.

Re: Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
It's always rewarding to see the kids do well in their chosen fields, and most seem so busy that a Christmas break is the only time to catch up and reflect.
Just one thing puzzles me about the references to grandchildren and beyond, though - I felt sure that OW had told us he was only 37....

Re: Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
At Christmas, should our thoughts go out to those unharmed by the austerity they've imposed on the most vulnerable in our society?

Re: Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
How time flies, a lot seems to have happened since our exchange of pleasantries a year ago, but I'm pleased to return the seasonal greetings from Cutting Edge folk again in 2016. (That was the Year that was, it's over let it go!)
If you're out and about this weekend perhaps wining, dining, checking the shops for bargains etcetera, please do one simple thing:
Be nice to the people there who are working so that you can play.

I'd like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Many thanks to all of you - regular and occasional posters alike - for making this forum the enjoyable place that it is.
Ivan is, unfortunately, not feeling well, but you may consider this post to be from him as well.
Happy Holidays!
