Latest polls
First topic message reminder :
Latest YouGov results are apparently:
Con 30%
Lab 42%
LDem 6%
UKIP 10%
So the drop in Labour's lead to single-digits in a different poll earlier this week was a 'blip', seemingly - the change was within the margin of error and not significant.

Re: Latest polls
It must be about time for 'The Daily Mail' to produce a modern version of 'the Zinoviev letter'. I suspect they'll have to do better than what is supposed to be a leaked Labour document about immigration. Expect a bucketload of dirty tricks from the Tories and their tabloid cronies in this last week.
Re: Latest polls
Just holding my nose and waiting for it to be over tbh - while supporting Labour every chance I get - decided to leave the campaigning to others this time. I'm not sure my mental health could cope with another GE as an active participant

Re: Latest polls
That's perfectly understandable, but remember that social media is growing in importance as newspapers, with their rapidly declining circulations, lose much of their influence. Tweeting and retweeting to our followers can, in many instances, amount to preaching to the converted, but not always, and it can't do any harm to keep progressive views circulating.while supporting Labour every chance I get - decided to leave the campaigning to others this time.

It’s worth posting links on Twitter to threads on this forum, inviting people to read them. Because so many people have swallowed the tripe that the Tories are better at running the economy (doesn’t anyone remember ‘Black Wednesday’?), the nasty party is still way ahead in the voters’ minds on that important topic. That myth should be challenged at every opportunity.

Re: Latest polls
are we, I hope, witnessing the death throes of the Tory party? Or at least of the current Tory government?

Re: Latest polls
What a pity that more people didn't get their brains into gear and find out what Brexit was all about before they voted......
Britons now back Remain over Leave by 10 points, exclusive poll shows
Remain 51%, Leave 41%.
Once “don’t knows” were encouraged to choose one way or the other, or excluded, the Remain lead rises to 11 points (55.5% v. 44.5%).

Isn't that proportion roughly similar to the true position in the Commons?

Re: Latest polls
Before the EU referendum in June 2016, there were roughly 480 of the 650 MPs who favoured remaining in the EU, which is about 74%. That figure may have changed after the new intake of MPs in June this year.
